Q - How does the initial consultation work?

A - Your first session will be an opportunity to discuss the issues that have led you to seek help. It gives us a chance to explore what else may going on in your life that may be contributing to your current malaise. We will also talk about what you hope to gain from counselling and psychotherapy and any goals you may have going forward.

Q - How often will we meet?

A - I encourage clients to book regular sessions at the same time every week. This helps continuity and to form a long-term commitment to therapy. My consultation hours can be flexible occasionally to accommodate irregular work patterns. All payments are made at the end of each session.

Q - Are telephone or SKYPE/SIGNAL sessions an option?

A - If you cannot attend face-to-face sessions, then Skype/Signal or telephone sessions can be arranged.

Q - Can I make a cancellation?

A - It is important to make a commitment to your progress. However, I understand that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable. For times like this, I have a 48 WORKING HOURS cancellation policy. Any missed sessions without notice are payable at the agreed session rate.

Q - Are our sessions confidential?

A - To ensure that therapy is a safe space all sessions are completely confidential. As a psychotherapist, it is my duty to take your privacy very seriously. I abide by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) code of ethics.

Q - Will health insurance cover my therapy sessions?

A - I am registered with Aviva, Bupa and Cigna to offer covered therapeutic care. If you are registered with another insurance company, your provider may still finance your sessions. Your session fees may be covered depending on your insurance policy or cover. If fees aren’t covered in full by your insurance, the difference between cover and session fees will be your responsibility to pay.
